The reviews on the Vulcan say it's a wonderful little starter bike for anyone who has never ridden a motorcycle before. I found it great for doing in-city driving, and using it to go to work. It's been a great bike for me and it's still in great condition.
I bought this motorcycle new in April 2003 and have kept the maintenance up on it (getting it serviced every 3000 miles), but sadly I’m bad about keeping documentation.
I live in Helotes and drove it back and forth to the Health Science Center (about 10 miles each way) Monday through Friday. Since it's gets about 50 miles to the gallon, I was only spending about $20-24 on gas every month.
The only reason I'm selling this bike is because I changed jobs. It was more convenient for me to ride the bike to my old job, but now with my job being downtown it's more convenient for me to drive my car. I do get the bike out every once in a while and ride it to keep the fluids circulating, but for the past year it’s been sitting more than it's been driven so I would suggest to whoever buys it to get it serviced.
It’s been garage kept, and has only seen rain while it was parked at work. And it's never been dropped.
Update: I changed out the oil and replaced the battery on June 24, 2007.
